Tramlines Festival announces impressive first wave

Tramlines is Sheffield’s inner-city music festival that stretches across multiple venues, runs from Friday 24th to Sunday the 26th of July and only charges £30 for a three day ticket. Tickets are available online at Tramlines.org.uk.

The first wave of artists announced for Tramlines 2015 is impressive. The festival welcomes political activist and punk troubadour Billy Bragg, the rap royalty of the Sugarhill Gang and the Motown wonder Martha Reeves. The good news doesn’t stop there, Tramlines are also able to announce the Buzzcocks, a group with a catalogue that includes What Do I Get and Ever Fallen in Love, the psychedelic rockers Knifeworld and the Belfast tones of And So I Watch You From Afar.

Manchester band the Dutch Uncles, singer-songwriter Marika Hackman who so impressed BBC 6 Music is performing, so are Slaves, the former Guardian Band of the Day Gulf and North London sister trio of Jagaara.

Festival director Sarah Nutly said;

The 2014 lineup was one of our best ever so we knew we’d set the bar high for this year, and we think we’ve done it again with the legendary likes of Buzzcocks and Sugarhill Gang. We pride ourselves on being a ‘discovery’ festival where people can seek out established talent alongside breaking talent and are excited to share more big and brand-new names for the festival.”

The talent does not stop there. The 2015 Tramlines festival also includes Blanck Mass, whose track Sundowner featured at the London Olympics, Portico and Roman Flugel.
