The big Comic Relief telethon may have been last week, but tonight sees an event of charity liftsharing – as Peter Kay’s Car Share hits cinemas for one night only!
Vue Cinemas across the UK will be hosting previews of the first 2 episodes of series two of Car Share, before it hits TV screens this summer. Stars Peter Kay and Sian Gibson will take part in a Q&A session to answer questions put forward by fans, and there’ll be a reel of behind-the-scenes footage and outtakes from series 1.
The money raised from sales of tickets will be donated to Comic Relief. Series 2 won’t air on BBC One until 11th April, and will last for four episodes.
Peter Kay is looking forward to the event, and said to the press “I’m so excited that we’re able to premiere some of the new series and raise money for Comic Relief. I really hope people enjoy this very special night.”
Richard Curtis, co-founder and vice chair of Comic Relief will be attending one of the screenings too. He said “Peter has been a long-standing supporter of Red Nose Day, from honing his miming skills for the ‘Amarillo’ single, to taking on his toughest challenge, ‘Sit Down for Comic Relief’, and the amazing Phoenix Nights Live which made over 5 million pounds.”
