You can now car share to Boardmasters and NASS festivals

Happy Friday everyone! We’ve just teamed up with two new festivals: the action sports and music event NASS, and the weekend of beach, sun and surf that is Boardmasters.

Both festivals are now encouraging fans to car share together to save money, cut down their impact on the environment and of course, travel with great new people on the road. We thought we’d take a quick look at each of these superb events, starting with NASS.

NASS takes place July 10-12 in Bath & West near Bristol, and it’s a festival like no other here in the UK. You’ve got world class music from the likes of headliners Public Enemy, Enter Shikari and Rebel Sound, who are joined by the likes of Less than Jake, High Contrast, Lower Than Atlantis, Roni Size and Roots Manuva – to name just a few.

But this is a two-sided event that offers plenty of skateboarding and BMX action, with appearances from the legendary Tony Hawk and his Birdhouse crew. There an indoor skate for public use, the annual skate competition, a vert set-up, pro course and more. The same goes for the biking events.

If this sounds right up your street, you can pre-book travel to NASS using their official Liftshare hub. If you’re a driver, you can save cash by offering up your spare seats for a split of the petrol costs, while those who aren’t driving can request a lift from our friendly community of over 430,000 members. Download our free iOS and Android apps to make finding a lift match and speaking with your fellow travellers even easier.

Next up between 5-9 August Cornwall will be graced with the wonderful Boardmasters, a weekend of sunny beach living, great music and surfing. It’s a monster line-up this year, with the likes of Faithless, Rudimental, Bastille, De la Soul, Groove Armada and Catfish and the Bottlemen performing. Like NASS, there’s also a sports element to the festival, thanks to the annual surfing competition, which has been running since 1981.

There’s the Carve Men’s Open, Rocket Dog Women’s Open, Longboard contests, and junior pro events. You can try your hand at the waves throughout your long weekend, or simply kick back and watch how the pros do it.

You can find or request lifts to the festival at the Boardmasters Liftshare hub to help get you to Cornwall for less, and with other like-minded festival goers.

We’ll have more on both of these fantastic festivals soon. Stay tuned!
