Liftshare isn’t all about road trips to festivals, football matches and friendship-building. Sometimes we don our best suits and become strictly business – there’s a whole other side of car sharing with Liftshare you may not know about yet.

We run several big private carshare schemes for employers and big businesses, including the likes of Jaguar Land Rover, Sainsburys, Vodafone, GlaxoSmithKline, and London Heathrow Airport. So what do these big names gain from working with us? In essence, it helps improve their corporate social responsibility (CSR) while helping their staff travel to work for less.

CSR can be defined in a few different ways, but is basically a mechanism for a business to monitor and ensure compliance with law and ethics, and to take full responsibility for corporate actions in their environment and for all of their stakeholders.

These corporate schemes work in a slightly different way to Liftshare.com, and there are many ways businesses can help their staff with travel planning to benefit themselves and their workforce;

  • Using a Liftshare scheme to help create modal shift – taking freight and vehicles off of the road and easing congestion around busy business sites
  • Demonstrating the company’s commitment to sustainable travel
  • Encouraging employees to network and interact socially on the road
  • Cutting down on parking space capacity by offering priority to liftsharers
  • Providing those without access to public transport an affordable way to get to work – attracting potential new talent from further afield
  • Cuts down on travel costs for staff in getting to work
  • Allows businesses to monitor their staff’s travel patterns and habits, and help make these journeys easier.

Our schemes don’t just feature carsharing, but also map out walking, cycling, and public transport option. Taking the bike and walking are great for increasing the general health and wellbeing of staff and in turn reduce absenteeism in the workplace – which can be a huge boost to productivity and customer service.
