James Corden’s Carpool Karaoke set for its own series

It’s been a viral staple for CBS ever since its launch, and now James Corden’s Carpool Karaoke is set to have its own standalone TV series!

Every video produced by The Late Late Show host has hit the big-time and been watched and shared across the world. But it seems that the sporadic nature of the skits just isn’t enough to feed the appetites of hungry audiences.

James Corden and Ben Winston, his Executive Producer, are currently pitching a standalone series of the show to other producers, based on the current segment. However, James won’t host the new series, but will remain on the team and possible make appearances in the future.

The project is said to have already gained lots of interest – which isn’t surprising, given the success of the videos thus far! Carpool Karaoke has been a huge hit so far, logging over 412 million views on YouTube. 84 million of these were down to Adele’s appearance alone, which became the biggest viral success ever. Once a channel or network has been found, then a new host can be chosen.

The celebrity liftsharing trend looks to continue, with the next Carpool Karaoke star rumoured to be Jennifer Lopez, and Spike TV weighing in on the act as they announce a similar series called Caraoke Showdown to screen soon. In the mean-time, you can catch up with all of Corden’s videos so far on our YouTube playlist. Enjoy!Would you watch a series of Carpool Karaoke without James Corden?
