Peter Kay confirms season 2 of Car Share – watch hilarious outtakes of series 1 now!

The BBC have announced the return of Peter Kay’s hit Car Share TV show for a second series.

The brilliant comedy series saw supermarket workers John and Kayleigh meet as a result of a company carshare scheme and get to know each other during their shared trips with hilarious results… all to the soundtrack of the fictional Forever FM.

Charlotte Moore, BBC controller for TV channels and iPlayer, and the original commissioner of the show, said: “Car Share broke the mould, innovated and took risks in comedy on primetime BBC One – a show that epitomises what the channel is all about. I can’t wait for the BAFTA-award-winning series to return, and discover where Peter Kay and Sian Gibson take those gorgeous characters that the nation fell in love with.”

Indeed the first series really was a success, picking up 2 BAFTAS, hitting viewing figures of over 6 million, and seeing 3 million iPlayer requests within the first four days of its release!

The new series will hit iPlayer in 2017 with four new 30 minute episodes. If, like the first series, they’re a success, they too may move across to BBC1 for a prime-time slot.

Does that seem a long way off? Never fear. You can curb your Car Share cravings by watching some of the outtakes from John and Kayleigh’s trip with their fishmonger colleague, Ray.
