Monday: Glasgay! Festival

We kick this week off with Scotland’s annual celebration of LGBT culture Glasgay!, which offers almost a month of enlightening events, entertainment and cultural diversity. Highlight include Sporting Heads, an exhibition featuring the many sports icons who have announced their sexuality over the years, as well as a gig from the legendary John Waters. Tuesday: OneRepublic live

Grammy Award nominated group OneRepublic take to Liverpool’s Echo Arena to bring its runaway success story to the masses. Expect the group to hammer out mega-hit “Apologize” and tracks from their latest album Native.

Fresh from a critically-acclaimed run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival this summer, this is yet another hilarious comedy tour that is guaranteed to leave the audience in stitches. Fans should check this show out ahead of Jimeoin’s appearance on new BBC panel show Monumental which debuts in the new year.

Thursday: Illuminasia

Illuminasia is a brand new attraction kicking off at Blackpool’s Winter Gardens, focusing on the art of intricate Chinese paper lanterns. Coupled with expert lighting tricks and illuminating techniques, visitors can expect a vibrant journey through hundreds of painstakingly crafted paper structures across six interactive areas. Definitely one for a fun family day out.

Friday: MCM Comic Con
October 24-26 @ Excel London

The UK’s biggest comic convention returns with a bumper schedule of celebrity appearances, panels and exhibitions for comic fans, movie buffs and avid gamers alike. Expect showings from Daniel Radcliffe and the reunion of the original Mighty Morphin power Rangers. Now that’s what we call nostalgia.

Saturday: Revolution Series 2014/15 Cycling Championship
October 25 @ Lee Valley VeloPark

The first round of the six stage Revolution Series cycling championship takes place at London’s lee Valley VeloPark, and ends at the National Cycling Centre in Manchester. The events encompass Elite Championship, UCI-sanctioned competition, and Future Stars heats, and will feature some of cycling’s leading names.

Sunday: NFL UK – Detroit Lions vs Atlanta Falcons
October 26 @ Wembley Stadium, London

The NFL returns for the second of three matches at Wembley Stadium, which will see the mighty Atlanta Falcons and Detroit Lions face off in what will be a festival of American Football action. Expect a close call between two juggernaut franchises known for their explosive offensive plays. Remember your giant foam fingers everybody!
