A Liftshare scheme set up in partnership with Royal Blackburn Hospital, Blackburn with Darwen Council and Lancashire County Council, is predicted to get bigger thanks to the TV show ‘Car Share’. The already successful scheme which has more than 4,300 people registered, is hoping the TV show will encourage more commuters to share journeys with others heading the same way.
Users Tammy Jones has described the scheme as ”equivalent to a £2,500 pay rise” and “the logical thing to do, when others drivers are travelling in exactly the same way as me, arriving probably exactly the same time, all in our own individual cars”.
