Coldplay announced as first Glastonbury 2016 headliner!

Coldplay will headline the infamous Pyramid stage on the Sunday of the 2016 Glastonbury festival, it has been confirmed – making them the first act ever to headline Glasto four times!

The only festival show of the year for the alt-rock four-piece, the performance will be the culmination of their A Head Full Of Dreams tour, which sees them visiting stadiums across the globe. After playing at half-time in the Superbowl and performing at the Brits in a fortnight’s time, this announcement is just the icing on the cake of their great start to 2016.

Coldplay will be joined by almost 3,000 other performers still to be announced for the festival’s full line-up. Despite only one act being confirmed thus far, tickets for Worthy Farm’s event of the year have already fully sold out – with 135,000 tickets being sold before anyone was announced. But don’t despair; there’ll be a re-sale for any cancelled or returned tickets in the Spring, so there’s another chance to get in on the action.

Glasto normally has a ‘fallow year’ break every 5 years, to help give the farm some time to recover from the strains of such a large event. Although originally planned for next year, this has now been put back to 2018 following some further negotiations.

You can still do your bit for the environment (and your pocket!) by liftsharing to and from the festival. We started facilitating shares to and from Glasto over 15 years ago, and haven’t looked back since.

We already have people offering rides to Worthy Farm, and if you’re driving, you can too. Or, if you’d like to save some cash on public transport and meet some new people along the way, you can book another festival-goers spare seats.

True Glastonbury fans know that the site needs to be protected in order to help the festival thrive, and sharing your journey can help contribute to that. Don’t get caught up with expensive train or coach travel last minute; get involved today!
