Shrewsbury Folk Festival 2015: all the acts, details and more

Between 28-31 August the Shrewsbury Folk Festival will bring a world of musical diversity and fun to the West Midlands Showground.

The organisers recently started recommending Liftshare as a cheaper, social and greener way to travel together, so we decided to take a closer look at the event and what you can expect at this year’s show.

Nestled on the banks of the River Severn, the festival’s bustling campsite borders various tents and stages, each playing home to a wide range of musical acts and other fun activities. Best of all, the festival is family-friendly to ensure no one is left out.

Here’s the official festival flier with all the information you need. We hope you’ll agree the line up is essential for folk fans or anyone looking to take in an enjoyable weekend.

Headliner Richard Thompson Electric Trio are guaranteed to be a smash. The man himself has received an Ivor Novello award for his outstanding song writing, and he’s also scooped himself an OBE for his work. Here’s a video of him performing at the 2012 Americana Music Awards:

Thompson is joined by a great list of bands and solo artists throughout the weekend, as well as Ceilidh dancing sessions, dance workshops, a Pandemonium! festival just for kids and much more. You can find a full price list for tickets covering individuals and bulk family tickets on the festival’s site.

We’ll have more on the Shrewsbury Folk Festival soon. Stay tuned!
