Highways England have launched a new THINK TV advertising campaign, encouraging drivers to carry out ‘pre-journey checks’ on their vehicle before they drive.
Launching ahead of the Easter weekend when many will drive for trips away, the advert calls for motorists to check tyres, fuel and oil before they embark on their journeys.
Highways England have confirmed that although the lack of these checks actually causes very few KSI (killed or seriously injured) incidents, it’s considered an easy behaviour to change. In 2014, 28 KSI incidents in the UK were directly linked to drivers not ensuring a vehicle was roadworthy before setting off.
You can watch the advert below now:
The campaign will also feature across radio, display adverts, and digital ads across motorway service stations forecourts and social media. Everything links through to a THINK webpage demonstrating how to correctly carry out the checks
The campaign also includes national and regional radio advertising, display advertising which goes live tomorrow (4 April), digital advertising on motorway service station forecourts and sponsored ads on Facebook.
All advertising will link to a page on the THINK! website which shows how to carry out the various checks.
Do you carry out pre-journey checks on your car? Let us know in the comments below!
