Bus that drives OVER traffic now in action!

Remember back when we reported designs for a bus that drove over the top of traffic to beat congestion? Well, that was in May, and less than three months later, it’s official: the bus has been made, and it’s now in action!

In an amazing feat of technological development, the bus has completed its test run in Qinhuangdao City, China and is now ready for passengers.

The test saw the TEB (Transit Elevated Bus) travel on a controlled 300m track with cars driving underneath and passengers on-board. It arrived at the first of the constructed stations and then on-boarded tourists and interested parties, who took photos and filmed the bus in action.

The bus will now enter further production and the infrastructure for it can be put into place. It’s expected to be completed in a year – incredible for something that was only in its design stage so recently!

Will you be hoping to try out the TEB? What do you think of it, and the speed in which its been produced? Let us know in the comments below, or on Twitter at @Liftshare!
