“Liftshare is my first port of call for festivals”

Festivals are one of the times when Liftshare gets extra busy. There are a load of music fans out there who want to get to their events affordably, and have a fun journey too. Our member Jackson Jones is just one of them.

He lives in Nottingham with his girlfriend, and really loves his live music. “The best festival I’ve been to was Exit, in Serbia. It’s held in a massive fortress and you can zipline from one stage to another!”. Last year, he was headed to Boardmasters and needed a lift for him and his mate, Richie.

“It worked out perfectly for us. The site was easy to use and we got a lift both ways with Dom and his friend.”

“The night before we were a bit nervous – what if our driver liked rubbish music like Britney Spears?! But of course we were going to the same festival, so we had loads in common. We talked about football and music all the way, swapping iPods and sharing each other’s tunes. The journey was absolutely fab and I really hope we can share with them again to another festival.”

Jackson particularly liked the way the driver can set boundaries when they offer a lift – using icons to say whether it’s ok to smoke or eat in the car, for instance. “It was good to know that they didn’t smoke; made the process super-simple.”

Liftshare will always be Jackson’s first choice for festival trips now. “It’s way cheaper than buses and trains, and easier for everyone. I really recommend it as everyone’s first port of call for any long distance journey if they’re worried about costs.”

And Jackson’s top tip for successful lift-sharing? “Make sure you have a profile on your account! It doesn’t need to be your life story, but don’t leave it blank. Not having a profile would definitely affect whether I’d contact someone – I need to see a bit more about your personality. Dom had a good photo and a funny profile, which made me feel confident I’d get on well with him.”
