Sustainability and behaviour change business breakfast event – Cambridge

On behalf of AstraZeneca I would like to invite you to discuss the practical steps businesses can take to encourage behaviour change and promote sustainable travel within the workplace.

With AstraZeneca relocating their head office to Cambridge, the move was an opportunity to influence existing car users to consider cycling, walking, public transport and car-sharing to reduce the impact of congestion in the local area and manage the demand for parking on site.

This event is an opportunity to hear how AstraZeneca has prompted green travel within the business and how they’ve managed to reduce dependence of the car, whilst recognising that travel behaviour change is not easy.

As a follow on from the above business case Dr Rachel Carey a Research Associate at University College London will discuss the importance of applying behavioural science to safe and sustainable transport. She will give an informative overview on where you begin to change behaviours, discuss interventions and provide framework examples. Rachel’s research background includes road safety, health-risk behaviour, health communications and behaviour change.

There is a clear business case for employers to engage with this agenda and embed long term sustainability. The event will also highlight funding opportunities available to businesses to drive this message into the workplace.
