Following the Comic Relief previews of the second series of Peter Kay’s Car Share, BBC One have confirmed its air date – and it’s sooner than we’d hoped!
The first episode of the new series will start on April 11th, with episodes being available online to stream through iPlayer once they’ve aired.
The second series will only feature four episodes, so two less than the first. We don’t know much yet, but we do know that the series will start with John (Peter Kay) and Kayleigh (Sian Gibson) having to commute separately rather than liftsharing, which isn’t likely to prove popular with either party.
Car Share became iPlayer’s most watched box set series ever, with critics hailing it as a fantastic comedy. It also snagged two awards at the 2016 BAFTAs (Best Male Comedy Performance and Best Scripted Comedy), and an NTA (National Television Award) for Best Comedy!
No need to wait until 11th though; you can still get your Car Share fix here. Read the brilliant back story on actress Sian Gibson, watch the hilarious outtakes from series one, and listen to the Liftshare YouTube playlist of Forever FM classics!
