Brighton Festival, England’s largest annual festival, takes place from Saturday 3rd to Sunday 25th May 2014. Now in its 48th year the festival welcomes the critically-acclaimed choreographer Hofesh Shechter as their sixth Guest Director, who has put together and innovative and ambitious programme – since 2009 each Festival has seen a major cultural figure take the reins as Guest Director to help shape that year’s programme.
As always, a great celebration of music, theatre, dance, circus, art, film, literature, debate, outdoor and family events is coming, taking place in venues both familiar and unusual across Brighton & Hove for three weeks. With 448 performances, 147 events in 34 venues across the city, 37 premieres, exclusives and co-commissions and 26 free events, over 500,000 people are expected.
